This is such a great family. I've had the pleasure of doing four sessions with them throughout the years and I look forward to them each season. I can't believe how grown up they are getting. Their oldest is such a sweet, responsible young lady....and I remember when she was a little girl in primary. Wow how time flies! Each of their children are unique and special, but they all have a common bond of coming from such a good, strong family. We had a super time during this session, and were grateful for the mild temperatures in June. I'm especially grateful as we've had thunderstorms pretty much every day this week, so to have my photo day blessed with such good weather is just well, incredible! I think the parents were worried that the boys might get muddy or splashed by the water before we could get our shots, but being a mom of the two craziest boys this side of the river, well, I didn't mind their love of wood chips, tad poles and skipping rocks across the water.
By the way, let me explain the random cow shot. This is the scene for me as I drive home from most photo sessions by my house. We are so lucky that our neighbors are these darling cows. We actually name them (well, you never know if we've seen the same cows twice, but we like to pretend). As I was driving home from the shoot (the 2 minute drive) I saw these cows and the way the sky looked so blue and stormy and the way the light was giving them halos and well, I had to stop and snap a few shots. People driving down the parkway thought I was crazy, I'm sure, as well as the dear, sweet cows. I could see worry in many of their large eyes -- the cows, that is.
